About Lights in the Sky
Lights in the Sky (A Children's Ceremony) is a work of immersive light-and-shadow play performance created for young children and their families. Directed by Logan gabrielle Schulman with dramaturgy by Jess Kaufman and devised in collaboration with Susanna Brock, this theatrical experience blends storytelling, interactive play, and adapted Jewish ritual to create something magical for young minds.
In this interactive ceremony of radiance and renewal, families will use their own "Shabbos light" to journey together into Shabbat through light and dark, rest, hypnotic visuals, relaxing music, captivating storytelling, and interactive play.
Through fun, immersion, balloons, partying, portals, projection, colors, and crystals, Lights in the Sky welcomes families of all backgrounds into community that reaches across our differences through the magic of rest. Across darkness and light, high saturations and muted tones, and from night to day and back again, this play-filled journey explores togetherness in ways that engage young minds and hearts.
